Ovation Church is committed to being actively involved in our community. Rather than recreating the wheel, we have search out and partnered with local community-minded outreaches who are already reaching the people of our city. As these local charities are hitting it out of the park for Jesus, we can be good stewards of God’s resources and make the greatest impact for His Kingdom by coming together instead of doing our own thing. Here is some information on the local outreaches we support on a continual basis.
Burleson Pregnancy Aid Center (http://www.pregnancyaid.org)
In our community, girls and boys are faced with unplanned pregnancies every day. Many are lost and confused, full of fear and regret. They feel alone and think they have no place to turn. But every year thousands of lives are changed through the programs of the Burleson Pregnancy Aid Center. The FREE services they provide include Pregnancy Tests, Sonograms, Pre-Natal and Parenting Classes through their PREPARE program, and Post Abortion counseling.
Harvest House (http://www.yourharvesthouse.org)
The Harvest House was established by a dedicated group of volunteers who answered the call of God and formed a central benevolence program for our community. Each year through their programs they fed an average of 250 families each month and help many with utilities, rent, and mortgage payments. Through their Jobs For Life Program, people receive help with job skills, resume building, interview techniques, obtaining their GED, and many more valuable services based on Biblical principles.
Johnson County Christian Lodge (http://www.jcclodge.org)
Our first goal at Johnson County Christian Lodge Is to provide temporary housing to displaced individuals and families who have become homeless due to fire, natural disaster or other circumstances. A place to stay can be the first step toward reversing the tail-spin that homelessness can become. Staff and volunteers will share the love of God with residents and tell them about the wonderful gift of forgiveness that is available through Jesus Christ. Our experience shows that long-lasting results of life-style changes begin and continue with a personal relationship with Christ.
