Yours, Mine, Ours – Sex & Singleness, pt.5

God gives instruction and commands for sexual behavior based on two categories of relational status.

God’s Categories of Relational Status:
Married and Not Married (or single)

Our society and culture has veered way off course when it comes to understanding God’s design for sexual relationships and marital relationships. In today’s message we’re going to look at how God designed these relationships and how it directly applies to our lives today.

Yours, Mine, Ours – Parenting, pt.4

The parental priority is to train and lead the child to fear the Lord, love the Lord, and serve the Lord.

Parents, you are the BIGGEST influence in your children’s lives.

Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)
Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

LOVE IS NOT ALL YOU NEED!
Love itself is not enough to sustain a relationship in the jungle of modern life. Being in love is, in fact, a very poor indicator of which couples will stay married. Far more important to the survival of a marriage, research shows, is how well couples handle disagreements.

Ephesians 5:21-28 (The Message)
Out of respect for Christ, be courteously reverent to one another.
Wives, understand and support your husbands in ways that show your support for Christ. The husband provides leadership to his wife the way Christ does to his church, not by domineering but by cherishing. So just as the church submits to Christ as he exercises such leadership, wives should likewise submit to their husbands.

25-28Husbands, go all out in your love for your wives, exactly as Christ did for the church – a love marked by giving, not getting. Christ’s love makes the church whole. His words evoke her beauty. Everything he does and says is designed to bring the best out of her…[husbands and wives] are really doing themselves a favor – since they’re already “one” in marriage.

Yours, Mine, Ours, – Marriage Must Haves, pt.2

The success of the marriage is 100% dependent of the Husband and 100% dependent on the Wife. It is not, that 50% is Yours and this 50% in Mine. All of it is ours. Both of us are responsible for 100% of it.

Genesis 2:18 and 24 (NIV)
18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.”
24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

Today let’s look at some of the things a marriage must have.

Yours, Mine, Ours – Community, pt.1

Yours and Mine are very understood in our culture. We are pretty good at recognizing the boundaries where Yours stop and Mine begin. We put up fences to boldly declare this is what is Mine and that is what is Yours.

I don’t care if you get Yours but I’m going to get Mine.

We even say things like, “That’s your problem.” Implying that we are somehow absolved from any moral obligation to help out or be involved.

A Night Of Hope – The Hope Of The World

ANightOfHope-web1

The Scriptures tell the account for hundreds and thousands of years of people hoping and waiting for a Savior, for the Messiah.

The story of Christmas in a story of hope. At Christmas, hope was born.

Matthew 12:21 (New Living Translation)
And his name will be the hope of all the world.

He is the hope of the world. Jesus is the savior of the world.

God is still in the miracle business.

Hebrews 13:8 (New Living Translation)
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

When our faith is put to work, when it is active and not passive, it releases God’s power in us and through us.

Sun Stand Still – Audacious Faith, pt.2

I want us to ask the question, “What would happen if we dared to ask God for the impossible?”

I believe one of the greatest needs that churches, Christians, and our families need, is the undeniable power of God preforming the miraculous on our behalf.

My desire is that during this series your faith would increase, your expectation would expand, that your dead dreams would be resurrected, and that you would begin to see God do the impossible in your life.

Sun Stand Still – Ask For The Impossible, pt1.

What happens when you dare to ask God for the impossible? Dreams are realized. Lives are transformed. The world is changed.

The Amazing Race – Enjoy The Journey, pt.4

The Amazing Race

This race in not a sprint. The race that God has set before us is a lifelong marathon.
Consistency Is More Powerful Than Intensity

Consistency will produce bigger changes in your life than intensity ever  could.

For many of us, our tendency is to rush, rush, rush.

Psalm 46:10 (New Living Translation)
10 Be still, and know that I am God!
