The Holy Spirit empowers you to be and to do what you cannot in your own natural power.
Through the Holy Spirit, you and I have the same power available to us and living in us and filling us as Jesus had while here on earth. Why is it better that Jesus goes away? Rather than Him being here to do amazing things for you, the HS will fill you and give you the power to do it for yourself.
When it comes to the topic of the Holy Spirit, many people are uninformed or misinformed. Having a little information or incomplete information can be just as detrimental as having no information. What we believe about the Holy Spirit is just as important as what we
believe about God and Jesus. The Holy Spirit is not a lesser part of the trinity. They are equally important in our lives.
One of the greatest times of spiritual growth can come when we honor God with our finances. Because ultimately it is a heart issue.

Matt 6: tells us the is a link between our treasure and our hearts. When it comes to the issue of money, in many ways, it is the key
indicator of your spiritual life and where your trust is placed.
Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
Proverbs 3:9-10 (NIV)
9 Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; 10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.
God has blessed you for a purpose!
If you believe God is generous, you should be generous. If you believe God is a giver, you should be a giver. If you believe that God helps people, you should help people – not because you have to, but because you get to, because that’s how God has treated you.
Honoring God with your money is a purposeful decision. Generosity does not happen by accident.
How you handle your money reflects your level of trust in God.
Jesus himself taught on money about 25 percent of the time and there are around 2000 passages in the Bible on money: working hard, making money, spending, saving, investing, and the like.
When it comes to the issue of money, this really is in many ways thekey indicator about your spiritual life and where your trust lies.

MONEY IS A “TRUSTOMETER”
I feel like I have met people who are living life who are tuning out the voices of sanity, the voices of reason. Even the voices of common sense.
What and who you listen to influences what you do.
Today were going to look at a story of someone who has a case of selective hearing.
Very often we miss out on what God has for us simply because we exclude it as even a possibility. Each of us, due to our environment, experiences, perhaps our misunderstandings, we form a view about life, about God, about who we are or the way things will be.
Sometimes we exclude the very thing God wants us to include. When we do that, we miss out on being a part of something great.
Once upon a time there was an orphan named Esther. When her parents died, her cousin, Mordecai took her in and raised her as his own daughter. Esther’s story is a story of greater purpose. The fundamental, core question we will see in the story of Esther is, “What is the point of God working in our lives?” Does he work through history and in culture and in circumstances to take care of me as an individual, or does he bless me as an individual to impact something bigger than myself?
Over the next few weeks we look at certain people in the Bible and tell their story. We will learn truths we can live out in our lives from what they did, how they served the Lord, recovered from mistakes and failures, etc…
We will also each week take a look at the story of someone in the church and get a glimpse of what God is doing in their life.
Today we are going to look at a story of hardship. What do you do when the story of your life doesn’t play out how you dreamed? How should we respond when we face hardships in life?
