Meet Our Pastor

Jesse Shook

Jesse was born in Sturgis, MI but grew up in Fort Worth, TX before moving to Burleson in 2003. He grew up in a pastor’s home and felt called to ministry since he was a teenager. He became the senior youth pastor at his fathers church in Fort Worth in 1999. He has also been the Media and Events director at Jerry Savelle Ministries since 2001. Jesse and his wife, Angela, have two children, Cole and Addison.

  • What’s on your iPod: Planet Shakers, United Live, Parachute Band, 80s & 90s hair bands, T.D. Jakes, Andy Stanley, Mark Driscoll, Perry Noble, Willie George, Craig Groeschel, Steven Furtick, Manager Tools, Peter Daniels, Dave Ramsey
  • Books: Anything on Leadership (especially Maxwell), Seth Godin, Jerry Savelle, Stephen Covey, can’t stand fiction
  • Sports: Cowboys, UFC, Manchester United
  • Movies: Naked Gun, Nacho Libre, Meet The Parents, Bourne series, Patriot, Sabrina (Ford)
  • Hobbies: Riding motorcycles, electronics, swimming, family time
  • Dislikes: Slow drivers, cell phone talkers, loud chewers, people who take themselves too seriously
  • Odd Facts: I’ve been sky diving, rebuilt the engine in my first car (and second), got caught cheating on math 4 days before summer and had to redo the entire math book that summer
  • Life Scripture: “My ambition has always been to preach the Good News where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else. I have been following the plan spoken of in the Scriptures, where it says, “Those who have never been told about him will see, and those who have never heard of him will understand.” In fact, my visit to you has been delayed so long because I have been preaching in these places.” – Romans 15:20-22
